Technology Capital
Network
(TCN) is a not-for-profit organization whose
mission is to "Make money flow between investors and entrepreneurs".
TCN provides a variety of services to make that happen. TCN is the nation’s
longest established venture capital network. TCN
has a proprietary, computerized matching process (TECNET) to provide
introductions between entrepreneurs and private investors. TCN provides
high-net-worth individuals with a convenient, confidential mechanism for
examining opportunities to invest in entrepreneurial ventures. TCN serves
professional venture capital funds and corporate investors who are interested in
early-stage, high-growth companies. TCN helps entrepreneurs whose companies have
the potential for generating substantial revenue search for sources of seed and
early-stage capital. Other services provided by TCN include Venture Capital
Forums, Capital Pooling Meetings, an Entrepreneurs’ Financing Roundtables
series and other educational services. Technology
Capital Network at MIT (TCN) was founded in 1984 at the University of New
Hampshire as the Venture Capital Network (VCN). It came to MIT in 1990 and
was reincorporated as Technology Capital Network. Through
our computerized matching service and our education programs, we are achieving
our mission of helping companies find capital to grow and helping accredited
investors find companies that may result in high returns for their investments.
Over the past fifteen years, TCN together with VCN has assisted the flow of $100
million from investors to entrepreneurs. TCN's greatest success thus far
has been the 1999 season when more than $38 million was raised by companies
involved with TCN's programs. www.tcnmit.org
